Friday 7^th  I had a message from what I thought was Jonas today saying, “DO U WANT 2 GO 2 MILTON ON SATURDAY? MY FRIENDS BROTHER IS UP + I’VE BEEN ASKED 2 GO? BIG KISS, LOVE U”. I did have my suspicions that he hadn’t sent the text cos of the “big kiss, love you” bit but I wasn’t sure how to reply. I thought it most likely wasn’t him so if I said “Love u 2” on my reply, I’d look like a fool and would scare him. However, it also crossed my mind that if it was him, he might think I didn’t like him if I didn’t say it back.

Anyway, I made the wise decision to sign off with a single “x” as normal which turned out to be a good thing cos Jonas hadn’t sent the message. It turned out that his mate Paul knew his password for Lycos (which he sends me texts from when in uni) and had sent me the message. Jonas said he was going to ask me anyway (hmm) so I agreed to go and meet his mates on Saturday. AARRGGHH!!

I also had a message sent to me in German today. I had no idea who it was from and I didn’t understand a word of it. It said, “Glaubst Di an Liebe auf den ersten Blick – oder sol lich noch mal rein kommen?” I did do German once upon a time but me and languages don’t work well together. I knew Archie did German too once so I asked him for a translation. He sent it to his brother at home where there was a German dictionary handy and I got the translation, “Do you believe in love at first sight. Or will I get let down again?”

Later on, I decided to get a 2^nd opinion as to what it meant so I sent the German message to Cat. She translated it as, “Do you believe in love at first sight – or is it still to happen?” At least they got the first bit the same but I still want to know what the second bit meant so I sent it to Jonas. Seeing as he lived in Germany for 8 years or whatever, I thought he might know what it meant (I did also think it could’ve been him that sent it but I wasn’t sure). I deleted the translation he texted me back by accident so I can’t remember exactly what it said but it was something to do with, “Do you believe in bodies?” and stuff but nothing to do with love. Weird.

[The internet tells me it’s pretty much the shit pick up line, “Do you believe in love at first sight or shall I walk by again?” Can any German speakers confirm it was indeed this level of cheese?]

Anyway, Jonas said it was Sid who sent it so at least I got that point sorted out.

Jonas came round tonight to see me. We were just chatting and he said he wants to live in Canada and would’ve been called Abby if he was a girl. That’s exactly the same as bloody Jake. Next he’ll be telling me he’s sodding off to somewhere miles away for a few months. He’d better not, I like him.
