Friday 1^st

[Let me present 1999! A very notable year indeed in the history of my diary. For this was the year of my first snog.]

Okay, first of all I was working at the Sports Club last night. It was really good actually. There were quite a few lads there, one of which pinched my arse when I walked past him. He was called Carl (in a green shirt) and he eventually decided he liked Hayley so we’re never gonna hear the end of it from her.

He had a mate in a red shirt called Paul (we think) who said to Hayley, “I fancy your mate (meaning me). What’s her name?” Except she didn’t bother to tell me this until they went home. I wonder why. It’ll have been because she was scared of me getting with him and her being on her bill. I got a hug and a few kisses off them both though just after midnight.

There was also some freaky looking boy who I nearly punched coz he kept calling me darling and stuff. [Yet it was ok for Carl to pinch my arse?]

There was a fit lad in the snooker room too with a Timberland jumper on and, as I was walking out, he said to the little girl he was with who’d smiled at me, “If you dare say anything, I’ll kill you!” I think he was with Ste Rollinson’s brother who we saw in Aviemore once.

Jerry said me and Hayley worked well and hard and we could have a job behind the bar when we are 18. We got £10.12 in tips and we get wages on Thursday.

Emma phoned before and told me about the party. Ewan (who now said he wants to be called Edward coz it sounds more sophisticated) went with [snogged] Zoe. I thought Emma was winding me up but she’s not. It’s awful. I’m so annoyed with Zoe. She knew I liked him too which makes it worse.

Emma said she’s shitting herself now about what I’m going to react like. I think I’ll make Zoe confess but pretend I’m not bothered in a way that makes her feel really uncomfortable. I don’t want anyone else thinking I’m too bothered either coz it’s like Davis said, I don’t have any claim over Ewan.

Emma said she doubts anything’ll come of it anyway coz Zoe rang Ewan this morning and woke him up and he was annoyed and didn’t want to talk to her coz he had a really bad hangover. Emma did say that he said early on at the party that he wouldn’t go with [snog] Zoe unless he was really, really pissed and when he did he was really, really pissed. Also, Zoe sort of forced herself on him.

Well, the fact he’s snogged Zoe and he hasn’t even spoken to me properly makes me feel really bad coz Zoe is considered really sad and it’s a well known fact she smells really bad so I’d say he’ll get a bit skitted for it. I can’t believe it actually.

Anyway, other stuff was that Ed told Emma he wasn’t sure which side he was batting for. In other words, he thinks he might be gay. He also told Poppy that he felt attracted to Robert Osbourne and Dougie. I’m more worried about the fact that he and Ewan were under the same duvet on a sofa. Great! If it’s not Zoe, it’s Ed!

Emma also says that she thinks Ewan’s suffering from low self esteem coz he was going round asking everyone if they found him attractive. He also asked Zoe why she liked him and she said she didn’t really know. He started saying, “I know I’m intelligent but I don’t see why else. I see myself as a walking brain.” Aah, he’s not that bad… well… no, he’s not.

I thought I’d better just mention that I’ve been on the Minocycline tablets again since Wednesday 30^th December.

Also, Emma said Ewan asked where I was and stuff without anyone else mentioning me first but she can’t quite remember what was said.
